Here’s a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions that we receive.
We update it regularly so be sure to let us know if you think we’ve missed something!
You bet!
Let’s face it, no one wants to think socks and jocks whilst sipping on something cold in the pool.
So, wave goodbye to the dreaded holiday laundry blues – as our guests, you get a (shared) daily bag of laundry.
Just toss your tired threads into your bedroom basket, and our housekeeping hero, Dayu, will swoop them away to the local laundromat.
You can expect a 24-hour turnaround, except on Sundays.
Just a friendly reminder: whilst the laundromat has a spotless track record, we can’t take responsibility for any laundry that decides to go on its own holiday or comes back with a hangover…
Bali is renowned as one of Asia’s safest spots for a holiday, but we get it — peace of mind is priceless, especially when it comes to your passport and treasures!
That’s why we’ve popped a floor safe in the Master Bedroom. It’s all yours to set a personal code and tuck away those valuables. Since Melati Villa is all about bonding with friends and family, we’ve kept it simple with one safe — it’s all about trust and shared memories here!
And hey, if the safe decides to play hide and seek with your code, just buzz Mat & Neridah on the WhatsApp group. They’re like the safe whisperers and will have you back to vacation mode in no time!
In the Dry Season (May – October), you can expect clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and ideal weather for outdoor activities. The temperatures range from a comfortable 21°C to 32°C.
On the other hand, Bali’s Wet Season (November – April) brings occasional rain showers and increased humidity, with temperatures between 22°C and 32°C. Despite the higher chance of rain, these showers are typically short-lived, and the island is at its lushest and greenest during this period.
No matter when you choose to visit Bali, the island’s unique charm and beauty await you.

It’s usually a 30-40 minute drive from Denpasar Airport to Melati Villa.
Naturally, this does vary depending on the time of your arrival as the traffic can sometimes be quite heavy in Bali.
But we have a standing arrangement with a wonderful local driver, Kadek. He has a new, air-conditioned 5-seater vehicle and will be waiting for you outside the airport entrance, holding your name card and ready to help you with your bags!
He can easily organise a second vehicle if required.
You can book Kadek directly using WhatsApp. His number is +62 821 4520 4300 and he’s super reliable with good English.
His fee has a flat ‘per person’ rate of 400,000 IDR (approx. AUD 40) for collection and IDR 350,000 (approx. AUD 35) and you pay him directly. If needed, he’ll stop at an ATM on the way to Melati Villa so you can withdraw the cash.
Note: Kadek is also available to you for local tours, scooter rental etc. Just have a chat with him on your way to Melati Villa – he’s a lovely guy and totally reliable.
We believe in providing a clean and fresh atmosphere for all our guests, where you can breathe easy and enjoy your vacation to the fullest.
Therefore, we’re proud to offer you a smoke-free environment in all areas of Melati Villa (inside and out), ensuring that your stay is not only comfortable but also healthy.
The tap water in Bali isn’t recommended for drinking, so avoid it and stick to sealed bottled water.
That includes steering clear of more than you might think, brushing your teeth with tap water, ingesting water in the shower, and food that has been washed in tap water.
Clean (bottled) drinking water is provided at Melati Villa and all food is prepared using the same.
To avoid single use plastic bottles, we use reusable water fountain bottles at Melati Villa – the water in the glass bottles in each bathroom is provided from the same i.e. its safe to drink, brush your teeth with etc.
It sure is!
Just click HERE to browse our menu, and our culinary wizard, Dayu, will whip up and serve your chosen delights at 9 am each day.
She’s our local flavour guru, hitting up the markets every morning to bring the freshest picks to your plate.
How to order? Each day at breakfast you can confirm the next morning’s order with Dayu.
What about your first morning? One week before your arrival date you’ll receive an email with the 🔗 so you can forward order your first breakfast.
You’ll love it!
Note: You may choose to breakfast out during your stay, or maybe you’ll be going on a tour that leaves early. In this event, please let Dayu know that breakfast won’t be required, and no credit can be offered instead.
Bali is renowned for many things, and yummy, healthy food options is one of them!
And Uluwatu epitomises this by playing home to a host of great cafes and restaurants.
We’ve listed a handful of our favourites below – they’re in alphabetical order to try and be impartial 😉
____
Alchemy is a beautiful plant-based cafe/restaurant that will satisfy even the most determined carnivore! The menu is extensive and has solid options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If you want to go off-piste and ‘build your own’ then we can recommend the salad bar as a lunch option (they do take away as well).
And the pizzas are absolutely delicious too!

Their menu has an array of sweet and savoury treats ranging from Eggy Banana French Toast to Masala Scrambled Tofu.
You can build your own meal using hand picked ingredients or choose one of their signature dishes.
Bambu Cafe is for everyone (not just gym goers) and all of their food is cooked in gut friendly coconut and olive oil.

Drifter is actually Drifter Surf Shop Cafe & Gallery, one of our favourite spots for breakfast or dinner.
From the front it would be easy to miss the fact that they are a full cafe/restaurant, but walk through the surf shop to the rear of the space and you’ll discover the large indoor/outdoor seating area.
The staff are lovely and the menu is extensive, catering to all tastes. From plant-based to pescatarian to carnivore and more… The cold pressed juices and coffee are something worth dropping in for too.
They make everything in-house and the desert options will blow your mind (and taste buds).
🛵 Drifter has a delivery service too!
Drifter is open 7-days a week, 0700-2200 hours.

Nourish is another of our favourites for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Their menu caters to all tastes with the classic Bali bowls that set you up for the day or a wood fired pizza after a day of exploring the Bingin Beaches.
Their prices are a little ‘up there’ compared to their portion sizes but, that shouldn’t deter you, its yummy food!

They will indeed – Dayu will refresh the bedrooms after breakfast each day.
This includes making the beds, topping up the (glass) water bottles in the bathrooms, emptying the bins and generally ensuring everything is as you’d like it.
In the interests of reducing our collective environmental footprint, towels will not automatically be replaced each day.
But, without judgement, fresh towels are available on request.
Note: This is not a ‘full service’ daily cleaning service i.e. it is for guests to clear away and wash any dishes, glasses, kitchenware etc that they use during the day/night.
There is – we supply an Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 Portable Bluetooth speaker so you can choose to either lie by the pool with some chill tunes or when playing cards in the lounge area.
All we ask is that you do NOT take the speaker away from the villa (e.g. the beach) and keep in mind you do have neighbours i.e. keep the noise to a minimum after 10pm.
If you’re into training, you’re in for a treat!
Bambu Fitness Bali is a world-class facility, with amazing coaches and an equally amazing timetable of classes.
They’re open 7-days a week and are just a 2-minute scooter ride away.
You can see their classes timetable HERE.
You can also check them out on Insta HERE.
They also have a great cafe onsite with loads of fresh, yummy options using local produce.
They deliver too! Check them out on Insta HERE.
Note: If you LOVE the classes (as much as we do) then you can take Bambu Training home with you! Here’s a LINK to their online training programs 😎

The pool is 1.4 metres deep across the entire length and width of the pool.
It features submerged seating areas at each end so you can kick back and enjoy the sunset or sunrise from THE best seat in the villa!
It does not have a safety barrier around it as this is not required by law in Bali.
A temporary safety barrier cannot be provided and therefore it is for guests to monitor all children and/or weak/none swimmers in and around the pool area at all times.
Note: It is a freshwater pool and is pH tested twice a week to ensure its in ‘tip top’ condition for you to enjoy! 😎
You’ll have great WiFi at Melati Villa but if you’re looking for a change of scenery or somewhere to seperate your work from your play, Bingin has a range of co-working spaces to choose from…
